The story behind the series
wooden eyes
Wooden Eye is a sculptural series crafted from reclaimed wood fragments—nails, screws, glue—assembled into one-of-a-kind ovoid forms that evoke the iconic eye of ojolo. These eight small-scale pieces transform discarded materials into symbolic vision, extending the ecological and poetic concerns of inorganic waste. Each sculpture resonates with the tension between fragility and resilience: visible joins and raw textures reveal both their humble origin and their expressive power. By painting select sections to mimic the iris and pupil, the work completes a cycle of transformation—wooden waste reimagined as an observant being.
Wooden Eye celebrates material reincarnation and expands your visual persona into physical, tactile space. It’s a companion series that grounds the LED-lit installation in handcrafted presence and sustainability.
All pieces mad and finished completly of plain and raw pieces of different kind of woods, joined with nails, durock screws and glue, oil painting on selected sections to resamble ojolo´s eye.
